Street Cat
Hello!
I am creating a game that is clearly based on the old classic game "AlleyCat" from Bill Williams created in 1983-1984.
The game is in production but I'll keep it updated.
StreetCat is an expanded version of AlleyCat. It starts out like the original but once you get further in the game you will see that there are much more buildings, levels, items etc...
But I leave it up to the player to explore...

Oh I love that broom enemy the animations are "purrfect"[sorry] ! Is that broom in the alley cat game?

Yes the broom is in the original AlleyCat game ;).
Haha it's not an easy game of course, but it's not the definitive version so all comments are welcome. The more comments, the better the game will be ;).
It works for me on Win10 if I use Chrome or Opera but if I use Firefox it freezes when I jump into a window.
Anyway, the art style and the music are really great.
Hey I really appreciate it testing this out. Yeah I had a feeling Firefox wasn't the best option. I keep looking for ways to improve though...

Hey saw this game on Discord itch.io! I'm using Mac, not sure if I can move the cat. I've tried the aswd and the arrows, didnt work?

what is the game engine you're using for this game?

Allright I made some adjustments. I made a blog about it but it seemed that in the game the trash that was going out of the windows was not coded to be removed once falling off screen so I don't know if that's the final solution but it will certainly help the game play a lot smoother.
A little glitchy but so far a nice game maybe a tutorial would be nice?

The game lagged for me too
When I touch an open window the game freezes, I tried restarting the game but had the same problem

I'm on windows on firefox
The game would lag a lot for me in a lot of different spots, I died to the dog and I wouldn't re spawn, one time I spawned in after dying and the cat was still in its death position making me not able to play anymore unless I exited and started everything again
I see. I will do some more compression of images used in the game. I know that the "dizzy" cat can cause trouble sometimes. I have seen when he dies en he accidentally falls through a window then you start as the dizzy cat. Can you remember if he was falling through a window?
